The new FD-R8050 has been redesigned to accommodate a wider gear pitch without compromising shifting performance. Quick and smooth front shifting is guaranteed under any circumstances, even when shifting to the big chainring while up and out of contact with the saddle. Thanks to Shimano's Synchronized Shift system, the front derailleur will automatically shift when you shift the rear derailleur, allowing both derailleurs to work together efficiently. With the Semi-Synchronized Shift system the opposite is true, the rear derailleur automatically shifts when the front derailleur shifts, thus achieving always optimal front/rear shift positioning. At the same time, the Di2's Auto-trim feature will automatically center the front derailleur precisely around the chain, preventing chain rub as you move the chain through the cassette.
