  • RAPIDFIRE PLUS has been used by mountain bikers since 1985. RAPIDFIRE PLUS continues to be the first choice for a wide variety of riders, from XC racers to freeriders. RAPIDFIRE PLUS is suitable for quick shifting, allowing the rider to downshift three gears at once. All RAPIDFIRE PLUS shifters, from SHIMANO DEORE to XTR, feature 2WAY-RELEASE, meaning the shift can be actuated by pulling with your index finger or pressing with your thumb.

  • The operating lever of the RAPIDFIRE PLUS derailleurs is usually called a trigger, because it works like a gun, pressing the trigger.
