Disc brake caliper for gravel Shimano GRX, model RX400
GRX Brake Systems: One of the gravel rider's main concerns is having enough braking force to control speed on steep downgrades or those that appear suddenly. This is why, at the top of the GRX range, one of the variants of the RX800 series levers (ST-RX815) offers Servo Wave technology from Shimano mountain brakes. It will provide us with a more powerful braking sensation and greater modulation for more aggressive driving. If you prefer the RX810 option without Servo Wave or the RX600 and RX400 series levers, they will still provide enough stopping power on a par with Ultegra, 105 or Tiagra discs, respectively.
Another option to consider within the braking options is the BL-RX812-L/R hydraulic brake sub-lever that is connected to the main braking hose that goes to both the rear and front brake calipers. These sub levers are designed to mount on the bars and close to the stem, making them an option when you have your hands high on the bars.
The brake calipers of the GRX BR-RX810/400 range have the same design as Shimano's flatmount road brake calipers from which they inherit high performance and features such as One-Way one-way bleeding and heat dissipating technologies. ICE TECHNOLOGIES heat in the pads and discs to offer efficient cooling that allows stable performance for longer.
