Scott Spark Rc Team 2023 Bicycle

Scott full suspension mountain bike with carbon frame, FOX 34 SC Float Performance fork, Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain, and Shimano XT M8100 disc brake.

The Spark RC Team is the perfect blend of cutting-edge carbon engineering, unprecedented levels of integration, and just the right amount of our secret sauce. We wanted this bike to be quicker on both the climbs and the descents. We've lengthened the suspension travel, honed the geometry, and listened to the world's best athletes to create the ultimate cross-country race bike. If you are passionate about speed, you will love this frame.

TECHNOLOGIES:

  • NUDE SUSPENSION TECHNOLOGY
NUDE technology shocks have been used on SCOTT full suspension bikes for almost two decades. We work closely with our suspension manufacturing partners to continue to improve this technology, so you have optimal support, whether you're racing in the World Cup or spending a day riding big in the mountains.
  • EVO-LAP TECHNOLOGY
The proper selection of materials constitutes eighty percent of the process of creating a painting, but the remaining twenty percent is where more attention must be devoted. That is why we have chosen the most advanced carbon fibers on the market and have also used specific tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to determine the arrangement of the carbon fibers.
Thanks to our exclusive FEA software, we can simulate different forces applied on a virtual model of the frame in order to further adjust its manufacturing. FEA software allows us to create complete virtual prototypes of complex products that incorporate all the physical phenomena existing in real world environments.
Using our Evo-Lap technology, we model the frame in a way that optimizes its surface area, simulate tube structures with different orientations of the fiber layers, observe the results achieved with different configurations and test the stress distribution in different areas of the frame. With the help of the numerous functions of this computer modeling program, we have optimized the carbon layers of all parts of our frame. When we put the pieces together from the first prototypes, the result was a superlight and compact frame without sacrificing stiffness, comfort or impact resistance. The entire range takes advantage of our Evo-Lap technology.
  • ADJUSTABLE STEERING ANGLE
With the new Spark, you can also close or open the head angle by 0.6 degrees. And you can do it without cutting cables or bleeding the brakes. You just have to disassemble the handlebar, rotate the cups 180 degrees and reassemble it.
  • EASY ACCESS TO SHOCK
The shock is accessed through a hatch located in the bottom bracket shell. In this way we can control the rebound, compression and pressure of the suspension, as well as install or replace the cable of our TwinLoc suspension system.
  • PATENTED INTEGRATED SUSPENSION SYSTEM
The platform with integrated shock allows us to tailor the characteristics of the suspension without sacrificing weight. On a bike of this level, any improvement, no matter how small, becomes more important.
To get maximum performance, a shock needs the power transfer to be as direct as possible. We want to avoid inefficient movements, that is, lateral movements with respect to the direction of travel, especially when the shock absorber is in the compression phase.
Integrating the shock allows us to improve this aspect in several ways. First, the frame structure around the shock in conjunction with the trunnion mount makes the design much stiffer, which reduces movement and promotes more efficient power transfer. In addition, we can mount much larger bearings in the seat tube pivot to further reinforce this area and reduce unnecessary movement. Our integrated suspension technology also helps us build frames with a lower shock position, lowering the center of gravity. Thus we obtain a better, more stable ride, with sensations that inspire safety when rolling.
Separately, they may seem like minor improvements on their own, but the sum of their parts gives us a more efficient damping and, in addition, the shock is protected from the external elements. Race in the rain? Don't worry, your shock will continue to work perfectly anyway.
  • TOOL FOR REAR AXLE
The Rear Axle Tool has been on our bikes for years, and now it's better than ever. Includes T25, T30 and 6 Allen keys all in one. These three options allow you to adjust all the components of the pivot and just about everything else that needs to be adjusted on the bike.
  • SINGLE PIVOT SUSPENSION DESIGN
A full suspension bike cannot succeed without obviously a good suspension design. From the first moment we tried it out, we fell in love with the Spark's single pivot design. Years go by, and we still think that it is the best option for technical competition in cross country and for fast and demanding trails. The Spark's suspension has a very specific and proven kinematic composition, as well as a higher unsprung mass. Using a flex pivot in the chainstay is a perfect solution for bikes with this range of travel. This allows us to keep the system very light while ensuring optimum suspension performance.
  • TWINLOC SUSPENSION SYSTEM
With the TwinLoc system, the rider can effectively control the entire frame, fork and shock as a single system. And why is this important? A bike with 150mm of travel that is set up correctly has more initial sag than a bike with 130mm. And it's precisely that little bit more travel that makes these bikes feel so good and are the best for going downhill; the problem is that having a higher initial pre-squat affects the geometry of the bike and its performance when climbing. That is why the TwinLoc system is so important.
TwinLoc helps control pre-squat in several ways. While all systems simply increase compression at low speeds in order to improve pedaling efficiency, TwinLoc not only allows you to change the compression damping, but also the suspension curve dynamically by modifying the geometry of the bicycle. In Trail mode, the shock is not only firmer, but also dynamically reduces its travel. The bike doesn't drop as much, maintains a steep saddle angle for climbs, and is more agile. We also offer a third full lock mode that helps you climb with maximum efficiency.
These unique settings optimize entry geometry, even on longer-travel bikes. We can eliminate the 'long travel effect' that takes away from pedaling efficiency, but we're not going to take away all the fun that 150mm of travel brings when you're heading downhill. Whether you're riding in a race, riding for lunch or pounding out on a trail after work, the ability to switch from one suspension mode to another depending on the ride profile at the push of a lever ensures more speed and incredible sensations to the pedals.
