GRX STI levers: The shifting action on the GRX is possible thanks to gravel-specific ergonomic levers (Di2: ST-RX815 or mechanical: ST-RX810/RX600/RX400, ST-RX810-LA) featuring a lever pivot axis located 18mm higher, a curved profile of the lever and a textured and non-slip finish that allows it to be operated safely while rolling on rough terrain.

To integrate the use of the dropper post into gravel, SHIMANO has created the ST-RX810-LA Hydraulic Disc Brake Lever which, used in conjunction with the 1x11 drivetrain, allows control of the dropper post without cluttering the cockpit with a lever more. The integrated cable pull system has 9mm of travel. that drives the dropper post with a cable lug inserted into the lever. SHIMANO's GRX also offers left hand hydraulic brake levers without shifters or for the dropper post within the RX800 and RX600 ranges in their 1x11 configurations. The ST-RX15 left lever (1x11 Di2) has three buttons (two on the side and one on the top) to handle auxiliary functions of third-party devices such as lights or cycle computers.

  • When a SERVOWAVE brake lever is pulled, the pad's initial travel is fast, so only a slight movement of the lever is needed to bring the pads into contact with the brake disc. The power multiplying factor then increases rapidly at the 'pad/rim' contact point, so lever travel is used to apply more braking power with greater control.
