What is Spherical technology?

Spherical technology's unique spherical design uses two separate liners to help control impact forces. The material and density of the inner and outer liners can be optimized with progressive layers to help manage a wide range of impact forces: the Insurgent features an EPS outer layer (to cope with high-velocity impacts) and an inner layer of EPP (with rebound characteristics). designed to handle slower speed drops). How does Spherical technology work?

Cooling power

We tested our patented Therminator head shape to measure the helmet's cooling efficiency and the results show that Insurgent sets a new standard for full-face helmets. Despite the additional features and protection, it has 50% more cooling efficiency than Disciple Mips (cooling measured from an initial temperature of 100º with a wind speed of 25 mph).

Our engineers maximized fresh, cool air intake points, resulting in 50% more efficient cooling power than the Disciple Mips®. A set of lightweight, soft-touch and absorbent pads includes two different cheek pads with each of three sizes, allowing for a customizable fit, which is secured by a directional pressure system that allows for easy removal in the event of a shock. At 1,040 grams in size M/L, the Insurgent is 200 grams lighter than the Disciple Mips despite additional features, including the advanced protection performance of Spherical Technology. Insurgent Spherical uses a pair of layers of EPP and EPS foam of different density that function like a ball and socket to redirect impact energy in a crash. Additional features include a patent-pending flexible gasket along the bottom edge of the helmet, designed to reduce the role a helmet can play in certain collarbone impacts, tool-less removable visor bolts with integrated Allen key receiver for easy Easy removal and a center bolt hole visor, which does double duty as the ideal mount for POV action cameras
