Vectran

Vectran is a high-tech fiber manufactured synthetically from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from Vectra molten liquid polymer and further processed to a multi-strand yarn. Spider silk like Vectran has enormous tear resistance at a very low weight – exactly the right properties to process into a premium Continental bicycle tire as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breaker. Vectran Breaker does not negatively affect rolling resistance.

E50

For our E-Bike tire we have more than 100 years of experience with tires for mopeds and motorcycles. All of our city/trekking tires are rated for a standard speed of at least 25 km/h. Tires marked e50 are also certified for S-Pedelecs. With its high-quality construction, puncture protection is high and rolling resistance is low, offering protection against premature wear caused by additional driving force.
